Scholarships for Students Continuing at Michigan Tech

A number of undergraduate scholarships sponsored by individuals and organizations are available to students continuing at Michigan Tech. The Michigan Tech Scholarship Committee selects recipients after Spring Semester for these scholarships. Established guidelines are followed in the scholarship selection process. Some awards require that the student demonstrate financial need to be considered, while others are awarded strictly on academic merit. A student's cumulative GPA will be used for scholarship consideration.

Returning Michigan Tech students who have registered for Fall classes during the initial registration period, will be considered on competitive basis for sponsored scholarships. Students are not required to complete a scholarship application form. However, students majoring in Materials Science and Engineering (contact the Materials Science and Engineering Department) should complete a scholarship applicant information sheet and return it to their department.

To be considered for need based scholarships, a student must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by annually by March 1, so that financial need eligibility can be determined.

All students automatically considered for the awards for which they are eligible. However, the Caterpillar, DTE Energy, Dow Corning, M.J. Electric, Michigan Tech Employees Children, and Michigan Tech's AFSCME Employees Scholarships require proof of parent employment with one of these companies.

The University Women's Connection sponsors the University Women's Connection Endowed Scholarship.
